Common questions
It said "I couldn't read enough". What now?
The photo wasn't sharp enough, or part of the list was folded, glared or cut off. Fill the frame with the ingredients list, hold the phone steady, turn on the light from the camera screen, and try again. Unreadable scans are never charged.
It says "Nothing from your list appears". Is the product safe?
No — and the app will never tell you that. It means none of your allergens were found in the text it read. Open "Show ingredients I read" and check the list yourself, and always read the package. Recipes change; print gets damaged.
What is the difference between "Contains" and "May contain"?
"Contains" means the allergen is in the ingredients list. "May contain" means the label carries a trace / cross-contamination warning. If you marked an allergen as severe, trace warnings are always shown for it, whatever your strictness setting.
I reinstalled the app and my purchased scans are gone.
Scans belong to your account, and the account starts anonymous. If you had added an email in Settings → Your account, choose "I already have an account" and enter that email — your scans and profile come back. If you hadn't, write to us with your App Store receipt and we'll sort it out.
Was I charged for a failed scan?
No. A scan is deducted only when the label was read and checked. Timeouts, unreadable photos, "no label found" and server errors cost nothing.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases go through Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I delete my account and data?
Settings → Delete my account and data. This permanently removes your allergen profile, scan history, photos and account. Settings → Export my data gives you a copy first if you want one.
Where do my photos go?
To our server, to be read, and then they are deleted — unless you turn on "Save photos to history", in which case they are kept for 90 days. See the Privacy Policy.
Which languages does it read?
Any language printed on the label. Explanations, translations and the allergy card are available in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Polish, Turkish, Swedish, Danish and Czech.
